D-LABS students pursue an original project in the field that genuinely excites them, guided one-to-one by a mentor who has real, first-hand expertise in that very area.
Every field listed below follows the same model. You are matched with a named mentor who actually works in the area, you meet with them one-to-one online, and together you build one original project that runs from the very first question all the way to the finished write-up. Each field page explains what that looks like in practice and tells you which mentors cover the area.

Whichever field you eventually pick, the model stays exactly the same. One question, one named mentor, and one finished piece of work that you can show to others.
