Research
An extended and in-depth independent research experience created for committed students who want to take a project much further than a first attempt, working toward a substantial outcome that stands a real chance of publication.
Research programs sit at the very core of D-LABS, and they are designed to build on one another. Students typically begin in the Research Discovery Class or with a short Research Exploration, and from there they move into one-to-one mentorship on an original project of their own. When the work merits it, they can continue toward fellowship-level depth and receive support toward publication in reputable third-party journals.
01
Start by writing to us and telling us about the student's interests, their current grade and the outcome they are hoping to reach. Based on what you share, we recommend the program that fits best and the mentor match that suits the student most closely.
02
All programs run live online, either one-to-one or in small cohorts, and every student works with a named mentor drawn from top universities and from industry. Sessions are scheduled around the school timetable, so the program fits alongside regular studies rather than competing with them.
03
Every program ends with something concrete that the student can show to others. Depending on the program, that might be an original project, a certificate, a verifiable digital credential or a recommendation letter written by a mentor who has seen the student's work first-hand.
A longer mentorship with a clear focus on publication, guiding a project all the way from the initial research question to a manuscript that is ready for submission, with dedicated writing support along the way.
one-to-one, extended, online
An introduction to real research designed for younger, middle-school students, building the methods, the curiosity and the confidence they will need for independent academic work later on.
Group or one-to-one, online
A short, guided starting point for students who are not yet sure of their topic. It lets them explore possible directions and shape a strong research question before they commit to a full project.
